Diagnosis & Tests: HbA1c
If you are suffering from some chronic health issues whom you consider to be related to diabetes, the HbA1c test is the first option of diagnosis. The normal range of HbA1c levels for people without diabetes is between 4% and 5.6%. An HbA1c level between 5.7 and 6.4 means you have prediabetes or are likely to develop diabetes. A level of 6.5 or higher means you have diabetes.
